Recall Description
Issue:
The crossover fuel pipe connecting the left and right fuel rails on the engines in the affected vehicles may have been installed with insufficient tightening torque at the compression nut connection during assembly.
Safety Risk:
A fuel pipe with inadequately tightened connections may allow fuel to leak into the engine compartment. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of an engine compartment fire.
Precautions:
No precautionary measures are to be taken at this moment; however, if you experience any issues with your vehicle, please contact your distributor immediately.
Corrective Actions:
Genesis Motors Canada will notify owners in writing advising them to bring their vehicles to a Genesis distributor where technicians will retighten the crossover fuel pipe or replace the pipe assembly based on inspection results. The remedy procedure will be performed at no charge to the owner.
